Kim Victoria Cattrall, born August 21, 1956 in London was the daughter of a British and Canadian actor from Canada and Britain. She was best known as Samantha Jones on the HBO show Sex and the City. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for 2002 for the Best Supporting Female Actor. She reprised the role in the movies Sex and the City (2008) as well as Sex and the City 2 (2010). Her other notable roles include her leading roles in 1980s movies Police Academy Big Trouble in Little China Mannequin and Porky's. The most well-known role she played was on the comedy/drama movie La Dolce Vita. It was a critical as well as commercial success, and it won both the Golden Palm and Oscar at Cannes Film Festival 1960. Her acting career began as a fashion designer in Skane. The final result was winning her first prize in the Miss Sweden Contest. When she emigrated to the US and appeared in numerous films in minor roles, her career took off. Her first film credit was Venusian on Abbott and Costello Go to Mars.
